According to the Better Business Bureau listing for Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve, Inc’s. listing they have been in business since 2009, and is based in Houston, Texas. According to the company website they are a leading precious metals company.  The company also sells historic coins and numismatic rarities besides precious metals. The online catalog is updated regularly. Both foreign coins and US Mint coins are available.

Their website states that their experts have over a century of combined experience in precious metals, numismatics, investments, and finance. Therefore, they’re perfectly suited to help clients determine the right investments. Our Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve Review team also finds that negative reviews indicate that the satisfaction rate might not be as high as the website claims.

However, some investors recommend against investing in collectibles. Due to speculative pricing, there is more risk involved. Bullion prices are based more closely on the metal’s melt value.

For people who want to invest in precious metals for retirement, there are IRA rollover packages. They include IRS-approved products that meet all federal purity requirements.

Its website has a satisfaction guarantee. Customers’ satisfaction is their top priority. They say they are completely accountable. Additionally, they reiterate their staff’s over 100 years of experience.

Now, the question is whether they are able to deliver. Since 2017, customers have complained. What caused the sudden drop in overall satisfaction in 2017 is unclear. Our Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve Review team has discovered that he company has established a compliance department.

Since then, complaints have dropped dramatically. But not completely. That is not uncommon in business though. People like to complain. Some more than others. Some people you just can’t make happy, no matter how hard you try.

Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve, Inc. Complaints from the Better Business Bureau

We have found a listing for Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve, Inc. on the Better Business Bureau website. If this is a correct listing by the BBB for this business there are a few things you want to consider prior to buying products and services from Nationwide. The BBB has also published an alert about this business. Their are some complaints about NCBR which appear to have started in 2017 and have continued into 2021.

The BBB noted that Nationwide responded to all complaints. In addition, many customers reported that their complaints were resolved.

Let’s look at a few recent ones. Be sure to do your own research to determine if these complaints are accurate, or not.

Delivery Issues

In May of 2021, the most recent complaint was filed. This customer ordered gold coins worth almost $10,000 in February. A tracking number was provided. Delivery was supposed to occur in March, but the package never arrived.

Despite contacting an entity in the company, the customer was not given any information about what was found. Additionally, Nationwide has not provided any updates regarding its insurance claim for over three weeks.

The company responded that it needed the police report before it could process the claim. The customer was refunded on approval of the insurance claim.

The customer confirmed receiving the refund and closing the matter.

In this situation, it does not seem to be the company’s fault that it did not communicate properly. Their control over the processing of insurance claims is very limited. They issued the refund quickly and without any hassle.

**This issue was fully resolved with complete customer satisfaction.

Problems with Product/Service

A customer complained of bait and switch sales tactics in November of 2020.

They contacted Nationwide Coin and Bullion Reserve and asked about a particular gold coin. It was worth around $1,900. Instead, the sales representative convinced the customer to buy a coin that had a better value and potential growth.

However, the customer received a 0.25-ounce gold coin. Their original order was for a full ounce. In response to their complaint, the company told them the coin would be worth much more in 5-10 years.

They concluded by saying they talked to a local coin dealer about their experience. They were told that they had been overcharged.

Customer updates complaint a day later to state the issue has been satisfactorily resolved.

**This issue was fully resolved with complete customer satisfaction.

Pushy Salespeople

After attempting to buy a coin advertised at a great price, a customer wrote a complaint in May 2020. When talking by phone, the representative offered steep discounts to make them buy a different coin instead. The rep continues to offer steep discounts for 15 minutes.

In the end, the customer convinced the sales rep to accept the first advertised offer. A store representative told him that the coins would be mailed overnight and were currently on hand.

Yet a week later, the customer hadn’t received their items. An answering machine responded when they called to find out why there was a delay. Several hours later, a manager called and said that coins could not be shipped for at least 10 business days.

At this point, the customer canceled the order. But no response was received from the company.

In response, the company said the complaint was invalid and removed it. Additionally, they said the customer received their coins.

**This issue was fully resolved with complete customer satisfaction.

A few examples like the ones above has led to The Better Business Bureau showing customer reviews of 3.31 out of 5, a bit lower than we would like to see. The BBB has also placed an alert on their website about this business, as seen below.

In conclusion, we found the company works hard to correct consumer complaints and the complaints received have been remedied.
